What You'll Need

  • 28

ounces or 9 cups shredded green cabbage

  • 2

    tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 1/2

    pounds ground beef

  • 1

    cup cooked

  • 1

    egg

  • 1

medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)

  • 2

    cloves garlic, minced

  • 4

cups Prego® Flavored with Meat Italian Sauce

How to Make It

  • 1

Heat the oven to 425°F (make sure to position a rack in the middle of the oven- baking on the middle rack ensures more even heating). While the oven is heating, spread the coleslaw mix on a rimmed baking sheet. Season as desired. Add the oil and toss to coat. Bake the coleslaw mix for 15 minutes.

  • 2

While the coleslaw mix is baking, season the beef as desired. Thoroughly mix the beef, rice, egg, onion, garlic and 3/4 cup sauce in a large bowl. Shape the beef mixture into 6 (1- inch thick) oval patties.

Remove the coleslaw mix from the oven. Stir in 1 1/4 cups sauce. Top the coleslaw mixture with the beef patties. Pour the remaining about 2 cups sauce over the beef patties and coleslaw mix. Cover the baking sheet with foil. Bake for 20 minutes. Uncover the baking sheet and bake another 20 minutes or until the beef patties are cooked through. Serve hot.
