Philly Cheesesteak Hero Sandwiches

Cheesesteak lovers… this one’s for you! Fresh hard rolls hold thinly sliced sirloin steak that is topped with a fantastic, cheesy veggie mixture. These sandwiches are so easy and delicious they’re guaranteed to become a family favorite!

    tablespoon vegetable oil

    large onion, thinly sliced (about 1 cup)

  • 1

    medium green or red bell pepper, cut thinly into 2-inch-long slices (about 1 1/2 cups)

  • 1

    pound thinly sliced beef sirloin steak (for cheesesteaks) or 8 frozen sandwich steaks (about 2 ounces each )

    jar (14.5 ounces) Prego® Creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce

    (8-inch) long hard rolls, split

      Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and pepper and cook for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

      Add half of the steak to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the steak is cooked through, stirring occasionally. Remove the steak from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining steak.

      Return the vegetables to the skillet and stir in the cheese sauce. Heat over medium heat until heated through, stirring occasionally.

      Divide the steak evenly among the rolls and top each with 1/2 cup of the vegetable mixture. Serve immediately.
