Chicken Sausage with Farfalle Alfredo

Farfalle pasta, chicken sausage, onion and tomatoes are tossed in a creamy basil pesto Alfredo sauce. The result is a fabulous dish that’s guaranteed to be a real crowd-pleaser!

    tablespoon olive oil

    pound chicken sausage or Italian pork sausage

  • 1

    large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)

  • 1

    medium tomato, diced (about 1 cup)

    jar (14.5 ounces) Prego® Basil Pesto Alfredo Sauce

    ounce package cooked farfalle (bow tie) pasta, cooked and drained

    tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves

      Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook for 12 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

      Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside. Add the onion and tomato to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

      Cut the sausage into 1/2-inch slices and return to the skillet. Stir the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

       Place the cooked pasta in a large bowl. Pour the sausage mixture over the pasta and toss to coat. Sprinkle with the basil and serve immediately.
