Dinnertime may be the one time of day when everyone's together in the same place. It's a great opportunity to foster kids' self-expression. If you're having trouble getting the conversation going, try tossing some of these questions out there and see what happens:
Questions for Younger Kids
- If you could pick any super power, what would it be?
- If you could go anywhere in the world (or in the universe), where would it be?
- What would you invent to make your life better?
- Anyone know any good jokes?
- What would you do if you won a lot of money?
Questions for Older Kids
- Tell us your day in 60 seconds.
- If you were making a movie about your day/life, what would you call it? What actor(s) would play each person?
- If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could have just three things, what would they be?
- What person from history would you most like to meet? Why?
- If you could write a book, what would it be about?
- Tell us about the last dream you can remember having.
